MTAQ Place, West End

Project Overview
The Motor Trades Association of Queensland articulated a detailed brief. This reflects corporate responsibility and the recognition of social obligations in this key riverside location. The ground level of the site is to be developed as a piazza allowing public access from Buchanan Street to the Brisbane river parklands edge.

A City Cat Terminal forms an integral part of the development, facilitating the connection of land and water based public transport systems through the site. The building design, resulting in a slender, small office tower, allows the permeation of views to the river from developments in the blocks without river connection.

The floor plates approximate only 650m², thus ensuring natural light and river views from all parts of the office floors. Hour residential floors are located above the office space, harnessing the locational qualities and ensuring twenty-four hour occupation and activity on site.
