Matson Plaza – Esplanade, Cairns
Project Overview
This comprehensive development takes in virtually a complete, Esplanade frontage street block. Originally operated by the Four-Seasons Group, it became the Matson Plaza following a purchase by Daikyo. The hotel and apartments buildings were designed as part of an overall, continuous precinct with extensive site landscape areas and built recreational facilities. The apartment tower was designed to allow strata-tilting but has been operated in association with the hotel. The apartment design allows each two-bedroom apartment to yield a one-bedroom suite and self-contained studio for letting purposes.
A later stage, the “LAKE AND KERWIN CORNER” was added following construction of the Hotel and Apartments. This is a separate development containing suites, a health-club and retail facilities. The complex is currently operated by Rydges Hotels.
