Project Overview
Full architectural services from design through to facility commissioning but not including contract administration Codd Stenders were also involved with the design and construction of temporary accommodation blocks L and R in 1994.

Special Issues
Additions were constructed within the operating enviroment of a large remand reception and sentence prison. In addition to approximately 350 new cells, a maximum security unit was constructed and upgrades were carried out to medical and kitchen facilities. Extra space was provided for industry. Maintenance of a safe, secure and operationally efficient working enviroment for staff and inmates had a major impact on the design solutions.

Project Delivery Method and Performance
The project was delivered under a managing contractor system which was competitively bid. All targets were met or surpassed. Final stage involved the construction of over 350 cells with a saving of $4 Million.
